(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 10, 2013 )
New York, NY -- In an effort to strengthen America’s six million small businesses, one new student-run, non-profit organization, Consult Your Community, is providing pro bono consulting services to low-income, small business owners in college communities. The organization, founded this February at the University of California, Berkeley, leverages the knowledge of America’s brightest students to improve the performance of small businesses, for free.

“Big consulting firms like McKinsey, Bain, and BCG charge thousands of dollars to advise companies on ways to improve,” said Consult Your Community founder and UC Berkeley senior, Michael Bloch. “If students like me already work for these types of firms during summer internships or just weeks after college graduation, why not provide that same help to the people that need it the most?”

Despite being created only three months ago, Consult Your Community has already grown into a national organization. Students from over 15 of America’s most prestigious universities – including Stanford, Harvard, Yale, Columbia, the University of Michigan, Notre Dame, and the University of Virginia – have committed to starting chapters on their campuses for next semester.

“It’s really exciting to see the incredible growth we’ve had over the past few weeks,” said Bloch. “The speed in which this has been moving from university to university is indicative of the strength of the idea and the impact that students can have.”

Consult Your Community offers its clients services in four different areas: marketing, finance & operations, environmental standards, and human resources. Consultants are trained and advised by graduate student mentors, faculty instructors, and experienced professionals from the world’s top firms.

Individuals interested in learning more about the organization and its services can visit its website or Facebook page for more information. Please contact Michael Bloch at michael@ConsultYourCommunity.org for any further inquiries.

About Consult Your Community:

Dr. Bernard Fialkoff’s Foundation for a Drug-Free World Program Reaches 10,000 NYC Schoolchildren

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 14, 2013 )
Queens, NY -- Dr. Bernard Fialkoff, Queens Periodontist and Dental Implant Specialist for more than 30 years and Valedictorian of SUNY at Stony Brook Dental School 1980, founded the Queens Chapter of Foundation for a Drug Free World (www.drugfreeworld.org) in 2011 as community service plays a major role in his office. His staff presented more than 100 free drug education events to NYC schools, after-school programs and community centers in just 2012. The Spanish American Medical Dental Society of New York co-sponsored an event with his chapter in January 2011 and Dr. Fialkoff presented the drug-free program to more than 100 medical professionals at Doctor’s Day celebration at Leonard’s of Great Neck on April 6. Queens County Dental Society published an article in this quarter’s dental bulletin publicizing the importance of Dr. Fialkoff’s drug education program and lending their support. A Queens Council Member presented a City of New York Proclamation to the Fialkoff Foundation for a Drug-Free World NYC Program for his work in providing more than 300 free drug education events in which more than 30,000 students took the pledge to be drug-free. The Council Member presented the proclamation at the Fialkoff Dental Study Club, a dental educational group that has met monthly since the mid ‘90s. The proclamation acknowledged the office’s work and the significance of professionals taking part in vital programs like these. Metlife Financial Services donated to the drug education program and presented a check at the November 2012 Fialkoff Dental Study Club meeting.

During the proclamation presentation, the Council Member read from the plaque, “In keeping with the customs of the members of the Council of the City of New York to honor our most distinguished individuals and organizations for their outstanding contributions to the City of New York, it is a privilege to pay tribute to the Foundation for a Drug-Free World New York Chapter and the Fialkoff Foundation for a Drug-Free World NYC Program.” The proclamation continues, “Dr. Bernard Fialkoff, Founder of the Queens Chapter of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World NYC Program and Meghan Fialkoff, Director of the Foundation for a Drug-Free World NY are exceptional community leaders and catalysts for change in the field of education and drug prevention, who have helped enable thousands of children to become real future leaders of the City. They have truly enriched our City with their dedication, service and leadership…”

Dr. Bernard Fialkoff explains why he got involved in this community program, “The success of any program begins with the individual. Any worthwhile activity begins with individuals then spreads to local groups, the city, the state and then nationally. Many professionals are speaking about how the negative environment is affecting our practices. This program helps children to stay off of street drugs and has gotten positive results. We are proud that our Councilman is acknowledging this program and taking a lead role in helping to change all of the downturn that has occurred in the last few years. As professionals, we can feel proud to live up to our purpose of helping our community and improving their lives. What better way there is to show this and to do this than to help the very children who will in short order, be in charge of our area.”

Queens Community Board 11 was first to take notice of the work of Dr. Fialkoff’s drug education program. Community Board District Manager Susan Seinfeld attended the October Dental Study Club to honor Queens dentists who had donated to the program during its beginning stages. Eileen Miller, Health Committee Chair, joined in the ceremony in which both presented a “Community Leader Award” to Dr. Edward Portnoy, Dr. Elie Marzouk, Dr. Daniel Weinstein and Dr. Hanette Gomez.

In January, Rabbi Levy Adurakhmanov, learned of Dr. Fialkoff’s community program while visiting the dental office with his father. Immediately interested and wanting to lend his support, he opened an informational event for medical professionals, explaining the barriers that attendees may run into when helping a worthy cause, but also saying how, “climbing the mountain may seem hard, but when you reach the top of the mountain, all the hard work would have been worth the toil.” A few weeks later he invited Dr. Fialkoff and members of the Queens Chapter to attend an Inaugural Ball in Washington, D.C. as representatives and ambassadors of the Foundation for a Drug Free World.

The Foundation for a Drug-Free World is a nonprofit public benefit corporation that empowers youth and adults with factual information about drugs so they can make informed decisions and live drug-free. No one, especially a young person, likes to be lectured about what he or she can or cannot do. The foundation provides the facts that empower youth to choose not to take drugs in the first place through free educational events and curriculum. Through a worldwide network of the foundation’s volunteers, 56 million educational handouts have been distributed, tens of thousands of drug awareness events have been held in some 120 countries and Truth About Drugs public service announcements have been aired on 275 television stations. These materials and activities have helped people around the world learn about the destructive side effects of drugs and thereby make the decision for themselves to not use them.

FME Develops CMMS Software To Help Provide Energy Assessments and Audits

(Newswire.net -- May 14, 2013) Evansville, IN -- Evansville-based FME, Inc., announces it's new software that helps clients lower facility costs through the comprehensive control of energy use. Beginning June 1, 2013, the firm is offering the chance to achieve significant savings in all key building systems: power, water, HVAC, and building envelope through a cmms software named Facility Value Manager.

"Energy consumption can represent a huge expense for facility managers," says FME President and Founder Wayne Washington. "FME now brings them a proven, systematic approach to evaluate their building performance and take action for dramatic improvement." As Wayne explains, "FME begins the optimization process with an Energy Benchmark, which compares the building's consumptionbwith peers."

To accomplish this, FME relies on the Energy Star™ database, a cooperative venture of the DOE and EPA.
"Using the findings from our benchmarking, we can approximate the potential for savings," says Wayne. "The next step is to conduct an on-site assessment." Here, explains Wayne, "Clients have three choices, including a "guaranteed savings option" in which FME models building performance. With the modeled option, we guarantee a net savings after three years, or we refund the cost of our assessment."

Energy Audits Put Confidence Behind Capital Projects.

A common problem for facility managers is determining which projects to prioritize. With FME's Energy Audit, it becomes obvious. "We can show the facility manager which projects meet an ROI threshold, and those that offer the greatest potential return. This makes it easy to build a case for capital expenditures with confidence", says Wayne.

Wayne explains, "FME can help with project financing, thanks to relationships with select lenders who regularly fund energy projects. We'll even provide implementation and project management services... our goal is to ensure our clients get the best possible return on investment."

FME, Inc. is the world's leading "value-adding, do-it-right-the-first-time" provider of "One-Stop-Facility-Shops." FME supplies parts, labor, management, and cmms software for operating all day-to-day facility-related activities. Activities such as preventative maintenance, work order scheduling, cost tracking, and much more . The company also provides short-and long-term planning, technical services, and construction at its clients' commercial, industrial, and/or government facilities.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, May 15, 2013 )
Chicago, IL -- In an effort to make community service accessible to those unable to participate in traditional programs, The Terra Research Foundation launched an innovative educational volunteering program. The new Terra Research Community Service program is a progressive alternative to traditional community service. It is for those living in rural areas, serving in the US military, the disabled, juveniles without transportation or anyone otherwise unable to complete conventional court ordered service. Terra Research sponsors these people to participate in educational classes, allowing volunteers to complete their required community service hours by going through school.

Terra Research is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life in local communities, particularly those burdened with poverty and high rates of homelessness. It provides free food to the homeless and educates children, high school dropouts and underprivileged members of society. Terra Research currently offers more than 3,000 interactive courses as part of its Terra Research Foundation Community Service program, ranging from organic chemistry to American history. Participants decide which classes to take based on their areas of personal interest and the organization provides them with all the resources they need to complete the program.

“We believe that education is the most powerful way to improve a community,” said founder of Terra Research Scott Young. “Traditional community service is nothing more than a temporary band aid on a much bigger problem. Education helps people learn new skills that may lead to jobs, keep them out of the court system, and improve their chance of living a more successful life.”

Volunteers needn’t be ordered by the courts to participate in the Terra Research Foundation program. It is open to anyone who might otherwise be unable to actively volunteer due to an illness, geographic location or lack of access to community service opportunities. “We believe that by allowing people to educate themselves and those around them, the community benefits in the long run,” Young concluded.

About Terra Research Foundation

Since its founding, the Terra Research Foundation has been one of the nation’s premier educational organizations. As part of a worldwide movement that offers educational resources and humanitarian resolve, Terra Research distinguishes itself by working with technology to improve the lives of everyone the organization can reach. Santa Clarita Divorce Lawyer. Who Gets the Kids?

$
0
0

(Newswire.Net  -- May 27, 2013) Los Angeles, CA -- Careful consideration should take place when researching a Santa Clarita divorce lawyer. Unlike a tangible piece of property, kids have feelings. When emotions run amuck between mom and dad they tend to forget about what the children see and hear. And that can determine who they will end up living with.

It doesn’t matter who you are or what social status you hold in your community, divorce is an unfortunate occurrence, even in the family friendly Santa Clarita Valley. When it is time for parents to split up, the children are normally caught in the middle. And the question is asked, how to divide the kids. It’s easy when assets are on a spread sheet, but difficult when they are children. With that said, it is best to find a Santa Clarita divorce lawyer who specializes in family law and child custody.

Some attorneys who work on divorce will look at the monetary value of the assets being divided and use the kids as barging chips. When that occurs, the child or children feel more like a piece of furniture and not as a person with genuine feelings. What happens in family court stays with kids forever. There are even cases of adult children who go through extensive grieving when their parents get divorced. So when it comes to divorce, age doesn’t matter.

In addition, some kids may feel responsible for their parents breaking up. They can hold onto memories of a fight that happened between their mom and dad then relate that event to the break up.

Another consideration goes back to the title of this article, who gets the kids? Maybe the kids feel closer to one parent than the other. Or perhaps the break up is due to infidelity which in a child’s eyes could hold huge amounts of resentment towards the parent who stepped outside the marriage. In addition if domestic abuse is the cause, the abuse could have happened to the children as well-whether it is physical or emotional.

So if you are in the unfortunate position to be going through a divorce and kids are involved, when researching a Santa Clarita divorce lawyer, take special care that the attorney is well versed in family law and child custody. Think about your kids first and the assets secondary.

As the saying goes, you can choose your friends, but you can’t choose your family. Make sure you have an amicable parting of the ways as emotional scars can last forever with children and they will never forget. Choosing the right divorce attorney can make all the difference.

(Newswire.net -- May 28, 2013) Greenwood Village, Colorado -- Susan Krodel, a full service realtor operating out of Greenwood Village, Colorado sat down with Jeff Hopp to answer some questions about real estate and her experience. Susan and her associates, the Krodel Team, have become known as the "Best Choice For Luxury Homes in Colorado." Jeff Hopp was interested in how they've earned such a title.

Susan started out her real estate career as more of an investor. She says "I was...always looking for that diamond in the rough and making it beautiful. I've always had a passion for real estate and could not imagine doing anything else."

Krodel says she loves working with clients and their families the most. She works hard to cultivate those types of relationships for life, and they mean the world to her. She mentions "I love being more of a tour guide in making what can be a very stressful process a more enjoyable experience for my clients."

When asked about the Krodel Team's mission statement, Krodel says "Clients first is our mission statement. Absolutely everything we do is centered around this simple phrase. Many clients come to us from other real estate agents who just did not take care of them and because we put our clients needs first above all else We want to be that real estate team that they're proud to refer to others."

Susan says that selling luxury homes in Colorado is much more than the number of bedrooms and bathrooms. "It's about the lifestyle." She enjoys working with discriminating home buyers to find the perfect dream home.

She continues "With our proven marketing techniques international exposure and award-winning service we exceed expectation in luxury homes as we do in every other price point that we work with."

Not surprisingly, Susan says that 95% of the Krodel Team's business comes from referrals or from repeat customers. "That only happens when you're taking good care of people" according to Krodel.

Susan recommends meeting the Krodel Team through their website. "It has fantastic technology for searching homes finding out what a house is worth and connecting with great lenders and other preferred partners" says Susan.

Southeastern Data Offers Customers a Green Option for Managing their Electronics

$

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 05, 2013 ) Longwood, FL -- With technology growing at an unprecedented rate, there is a great deal of outdated electronics that require disposing off. Unfortunately, in many cases these materials often wind up in landfills, taking up valuable space. As these materials break down they can leak dangerous materials into the soil and groundwater, damaging the environment and putting the health of those nearby at risk.

Southeastern Data offers a practical solution to this growing problem, offering customers the option of disposing outdated electronics in a safe and responsible manner. This electronics recycling program encourages clients to dispose off used computer equipment without having to worry about the environmental implications. This also helps to ensure that any personal data remaining on the device will be disposed off properly, to help ensure that clients are not at risk after they upgrade their equipment.

The birth

Southwestern Data is owned by veteran Allan Jackson. This Central Florida company was founded in 1996 as a means of assisting local and national companies with a means to dispose off their electronic devices and recycling computer equipment that have become outdated. These devices are carefully emptied to ensure that no private data is lost.

The business is a registered Microsoft refurbisher that can manage these tools, preparing them for use by new clients that require an inexpensive solution for their electronic needs. The company is also registered with the EPA Florida Department of Environmental Protection as a certified recycling company, capable of matching large loads of electronic disposal according to the proper standards.

Equipment Recycling for Green Businesses and Data Security

Hard drives or outdated floppy media that is turned in to Southwestern Data will be shredded. This will help to ensure that any private or critical data will be destroyed so there is no risk that it will fall into the wrong hands. Mobile hard drive shredding services are also available to ensure that clients can gain access to the services they require to properly dispose any of their outdated storage facilities.

Corporations that regularly have data or equipment that will need to be disposed off can participate in a revenue sharing program, providing further incentive to dispose of their electronics properly.

Companies that regularly have overstock or participate in system upgrades may be creating a great deal of waste that could be causing pileup or environmental damage as it is thrown away.

Instead of causing this damage, corporations can take part in a re-marketing campaign that provides this unneeded equipment to worldwide sources that can make better use of it. Not only is this preventing the environmental hazards associated with disposing of electronics, it helps to ensure that those that require electronic equipment can gain access to these tools at an affordable price.

About Southeastern Data:

Automotive Air Conditioning Repair Q&A with Local Aurora Mechanic

$
0
0

(Newswire.net -- June 6, 2013) Aurora, Colorado -- Ken Rackley, owner of Aurora auto repair shop Tune Tech Automotive, sat down recently with Jeff Hopp to answer some frequently asked questions regarding automotive air conditioning repair and maintenance.

Of all the systems in a vehicle, few people consider air conditioning to be a vital one, until it's not functioning correctly. Ken Rackley says it's important to maintain a vehicle's air conditioning system for two reasons. "It's important because, personal comfort for one. You can have the windows up and have the temperature set where you need to, and everything's good there. For two, it actually helps the efficiency of the vehicle. The fuel mileage and things along those lines increase...they're designed to have better fuel mileage with the windows up going down the road."

Fortunately, according to Rackley, around "90 percent" of the problems his shops sees regarding automotive air conditioning are simply due to a low charge. Vehicles' air conditioning systems are "charged" with refridgerant, which cools the air. Over time, as with other auto parts or components, the charge gets low and needs to be replaced. According to Ken, this repair is relatively simple and inexpensive. "If it is just a charge problem and there's no leaks or anything along those lines, then the average charge would be about $155 on a full charge, and getting it working properly. And we also put a dye in there. If there are small leaks, then that makes it easier to find."

Occasionally, there are more serious causes to a failure of vehicular air conditioning. Ken says "Other things can happen that can cause them to quit working also, quit working or not cooling efficiently, whether it be electrical or internal sensors and things along those lines for your automatic climate control." Ken says a simple diagnostic test, the cost of which is ultimately put toward the total repair bill, can determine the cause of these problems.

Ken Rackley's repair shop, Tune Tech Automotive, has been serving the Aurora area since 1995. Apart from air conditioning repair, they offer a comprehensive line of services including brakes, oil changes, tune ups, scheduled maintenance, suspension work, and more.

Tune Tech Automotive's website offers more information about auto maintenance questions and repairs.

Realtors Go Crazy After Local Internet Marketer gives FREE Buyer Leads to Real Estate Professionals With Unsold Seller Listings

$

(Newswire.net -- June 11, 2013) Portland, OR -- “Online marketing tactics change faster than any of us can keep up with it,” Harmon began. “And some industries like car dealerships, medical professionals and realtors don’t have time to keep up with it. The basic strategy always remains the same; offer valuable information to the person seeking it and they’ll be your customer for life. Google’s been using this business model extremely successfully and so have I as an internet marketer for local businesses.

“What home buyers are desperately searching for is a good value on their next home,” Brad continued. “They don’t want to get caught up in the next housing bubble, so they’re quietly searching for deals online. Yet Realtors are sitting on thousands of seller listings that are a great value, but haven’t been able to connect with the discreet internet home buyer… Until now!

“As a local internet marketer, all I do is solve these kind of problems. In an online mastermind  group I’m in, we discussed a solution for realtors and created the perfect lead generation system for real estate professionals. During the initial testing it brought in leads faster than we could find realtors to service the leads. A great problem to have,” Harmon smiled. “So I started giving the leads away for free. It gave me a chance to discover the quality of the realtor before deciding to create a long-term working relationship with them.

“We’re ready to roll this program out nationally but I need to test the system in a few more markets and create some more case studies to demonstrate the power of this system.” Harmon’s enthusiasm for the program began to take over, “So I’m looking for some progressive realtors to help me service the buyer leads in their market area and give me honest feedback on the quality of leads the system generates.

“I’m offering 10 free buyer leads to any real estate professional who wants to test my system risk free. I’m hoping that out of the 10 fresh buyer leads, the realtor sells at least one home and can give me a successful case study for my marketing.” Harmon explained, “This is an amazing opportunity for a realtor. Some are paying $15 to $50 for a buyer lead that is also being sold to another realtor down the street. I don’t do that. I will only work with one agent or broker in a geographical area. It’s only fair.”

“Not only am I offering them $150 to $500 worth of buyer leads, but I’m betting they’ll be claiming a 3% or 6% commission on a sale or I will have gone to a lot of effort without getting my case study and I don’t make bets I can’t win.” Harmon concluded, “It’s the best Win-Win offer I could think of. Most importantly I hope the home buyer and the economy come out winners to.”

Morrison's Analysis Reveals a Very Strong Buyer's Market for Vancouver real estate

According to Morrison, there has been a drop in median sales averaging 10% across the board since July 2011, but the anomaly is that the total inventory has climbed fairly extensively in most of these areas. This is true for detached single family homes, attached townhomes, and apartment condos in Vancouver. There have, however, been some exceptions which Richard Morrison reveals in his report, such as townhomes in the Kitsilano market, which only dropped by 3% since July 2011.

Further research shows that although the market prices are very stable in certain areas like Kitsilano, where they have been resilient to the rising inventory levels, other areas have not been so lucky. Cambie is one of the areas that has been hit hard and these detached single family homes experienced a huge drop. Morrison and his team are intrigued by the varying dynamics being seen across the lower mainland, however, they are very confident that Canada is moving slowly from a generally balanced market into a buyer's market.

Morrison's Advice for Buyers

According to Morrison, market cycles fluctuate all the time, even with the economic recession. In fact, it is interesting to note that during all major financial events worldwide, when markets were slow and economies crashed, Morrison told all his buyers the same thing -and that was to buy. "Market cycles are a fact of life… stay the course and pick up the good buys," he advises. "We had great times in the past 10 plus years and some things must and do come to an end, but it does not mean a crash!" He continues, "The general population must go on… Families downsize, upsize, people relocate, they move away for other reasons… This market has come and gone… and life goes on…"

Taking into account the drop in market prices throughout most of Vancouver since the peak in January 2012, it is safe to say that that time buyers have been waiting for is right now.

The Link Between Cholera and Saris

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 14, 2013 ) Orlando, FL -- Dr. Rita Colwell has studied cholera for nearly 50 years, and has written more than 700 publications and received at least 40 honorary degrees. cholera, a deadly diarrheal disease, has been rare in the United States since the early 1900s, but in the developing world, where access to clean drinking water is more difficult, it is still a serious problem.

Colwell is the former director of the National Science Foundation and former president of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and is currently the distinguished professor at both the University of Maryland, College Park and Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Colwell and her team of researchers conducted a study and found that sari cloth, the material that is used to make dresses that women wear in many third world countries, when folded about four times, makes a very nice mesh filter, with small enough pore size to trap plankton and other bacteria that can cause cholera.

A three-year study was funded by the National Institutes of Health and Nursing Institute that involved about 50 villages and over 150,000 people, and sure enough, by having women filter their water collected from the ponds and rivers every day, we showed about a 50% decrease in cholera. While it is a simple step, it can prevent the most deadly cases of cholera.

Doctor in Oregon Finds His Voice Online and Helps More Patients

(Newswire.net -- June 13, 2013) Portland, OR

“The whole Google Hangout thing has been really neat. We’ve been able to put together a small library of quick educational videos for our patients,” stated Dr. Rigert in an online interview.  “I can actually cover topics people need to understand in order to make a good decision about their health care and their answer is right there on YouTube and it makes things easier for me in the exam room too.”

As physiatrists, the doctors at Columbia Pain Management had been trying to get the word out using traditional advertising and Google Adwords to drive traffic to their website but could never really tell if it was working. After consulting with Brad Harmon, Marketing Strategist with U B All U R Business Solutions, they discovered that hundreds of dollars were being wasted each month on Pay-per-Click searches from the east coast, as potential patients that would never incur the expense of traveling to the Northwest for pain treatment.

“Like most business owners, they thought that online marketing is about websites and search results,” explained Harmon. “Marketing has always been and will always be about getting the right message to the right person using the right media. The internet is a great media but it’s not a silver bullet that kills all of your advertising nightmares. It is, however, a very useful tool for getting your message to the people who need to and want to hear it. Once I help them understand their message and who needs it finding the right delivery media is easy.”

“Frankly I was stalled,” began Dr. Rigert when asked about his frustration with getting the message out to potential patients. “Before meeting with Brad I was not going to set up a tripod and make educational videos, but he’s motivated me to sit here each week and actually do something that helps people. It’s as simple as remembering to sit at my computer on Monday mornings and having a conversation with Brad about an important medical topic and treatment. We record the Google Hangout and he gets it ready for people to find on YouTube.

“It’s really more like having a coach,” Rigert continued. “I mean this isn’t something I couldn’t do myself. I could use my iPhone and take a video and upload it to YouTube, but it’s not the best use of my time. Brad’s been great about explaining how things work, tracking and proving that they are working, and leading us in the right direction. So he’s the ‘someone’ I go to for advice about marketing.  Just like I’d never doctor myself, I would recommend people not try to do the internet thing themselves. They need to get some professional help and Brad is the right guy to help.”

“I’m pleased to have been able to help people who need relief from a life of pain get their life back by introducing them to Dr. Rigert and his team at Columbia Pain Management,” expressed Harmon. “They were already leaders in the community and medical industry. I only helped them find their voice and their message and made it available to people desperately searching for a solution to their pain. Sure, I use my talents to sell books and other commercial goods, but helping someone find compassionate care close to home makes me feel good about what I do.”

U B All U R Business Solutions has been helping business professionals in the health care and legal industries get their message out to attract more patients and clients profitably.

singlemotherguide.com, Popular Blog Providing Help for Single Mothers Has New Site Features

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 24, 2013 ) Irving, CA -- As the number of single mothers in the United States increases, women seeking state assistance have dramatically doubled as well. As of today, about 4 out of 10 children are born outside marriage and are being supported by unwed mothers. What is more alarming is that single motherhood is now prevalent not only in minorities and poorer sectors, but has gradually evolved into a norm for most women as the numbers keep rising every year. With these statistics, it’s no surprise why help for single mothers is much needed today, more than ever.

One leading website whose goal is to extend help to single mothers is singlemotherguide.com. They provide information and are a growing community where women who are facing the challenge of raising their children on their own can find hope and much needed support.

According to statistics, one of the biggest challenges these women face is being able to provide adequate financial support for their children, as many of them have jobs that do not have sick leave. Too poor to hire help, these moms are the sole caretakers of their children, forcing them to lose their jobs if their child gets sick and needs special attention.

In a special report by Forbes.com, they revealed this disturbing reality:
“Single mothers’ economic vulnerability is also hugely impacted by the fact that they are their children’s sole caretakers. The U.S. is the only country in the top fifteen most competitive ones that doesn’t mandate paid sick leave (not to mention that we’re the only advanced country that doesn’t guarantee paid vacation time). If a child gets sick, a single mother is faced with leaving work and risking her job (or at the very least, losing a day’s worth of pay) with no one else to fall back on.” - Forbes.com, "The Rise and Downfall of the American Single Mother".

To continue their mission of empowering single mothers with the knowledge to help them in their struggles, singlemotherguide.com has recently added a new section in their website featuring grants for single mothers in various states. In this new page, their subscribers can easily view information about different programs for each state designed to help single parents. Those who are seeking free government grants need not look further, as there are comprehensive lists of programs for each state that will provide the information needed.

In addition, a new forum has been created with the aim of providing a single hub for single mothers to feel a part of a larger community of women who are experiencing the challenges of single parenting. Visitors are invited to partake in the discussion and share the ups & downs of being a single mother.

With these newly added features, singlemotherguide.com has once again fulfilled their commitment of providing assistance for single mothers through valuable information and education. For more information, visit their website today at http://singlemotherguide.com or contact their representative directly.
About SMG:
A renowned website offering free information for women seeking financial assistance in the form of grants for single mothers to help them raise their children. By providing timely information and adequate education, the site is providing an invaluable service for many single mothers in the United States.

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 26, 2013 ) Ontario, Canada -- Tammy Babcock, the founder of Help Tammy Help Haiti charity, has recently announced great strides in the building of the Pivot Point Community Centre located in Haiti’s Cite Solei. The land has been cleared as well as paid for and she is in the process of raising funds for the building of the foundation.

Once completed, the Pivot Point Community Centre will house a covered basketball court, two large training rooms and two open-air meeting areas for people in the community to unite. The facility will eventually offer adult education classes, training for jobs, special needs programs and conflict resolution skills training.

In June of 2012, the medical clinic, built with generous donations to the Help Tammy Help Haiti fund, was completed. Although still waiting for doctors, the facility is currently the training ground for First Aid. Classes are also held at the clinic for expectant mothers in the form of infant and child care with a strong focus on proper hygiene.

Staffing the medical center is one of Tammy’s top priorities. She is approaching two organizations in this regard. One is Nuestros Pequenos Hermanos (NPH) Haiti, which is run by Father Richard Frechette. The other is the J/P Haitian Relief Organization (J/P HRO), a charity organization founded by the actor, Sean Penn.

Similarly, Tammy is trying to raise funds for a man from Cite Soleil named Robinson. Robinson has been assisting international organizations in Haiti since he was eighteen. He needs six thousand dollars to attend dental school. He has plans to be the very first local dentist in Cite Soleil. Dental health professionals are a desperately needed service in the area, as very few international dentists will even visit the region. Donations to the dental fund can be made at www.gofundme.com/2ldmvw.

For more information on Help Tammy Help Haiti visit her website at www.helptammyhelphaiti.com or Tweet her @HTHelpHaiti.

New Romance Author AJ Harmon Releases a Cook Book with the Recipe for Love

(Newswire.net   -- June 26, 2013)

Romance author AJ Harmon has brought two of her favorite things together in the newest book of the First Class Novels series. First Class Menu tells the story of a romance facilitated by a cooking class and a passionate love of food.

“You know the old saying,” Harmon grinned. “The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach? Well, I just turned that into a romance novel - my cookbook for foodies and romance readers.”

AJ’s own love of cooking inspired her to write about a chef, Lindsey, the heroine of the story, and how her personal life is one of the things that is regularly sacrificed in order to achieve success in the competitive restaurant business. “Working eighty hour weeks in not uncommon and that makes it difficult to sustain a relationship,” Harmon continued. “When I eat a great meal at a restaurant, I often think about the chef and how long it took them to get to that level. I wanted to celebrate them in my stories and I hope that I have given them the accolades they deserve.”

Menu is the sixth book in her romance novel series and focuses on the middle Lathem brother, David. “I’m a middle child,” AJ smiled. “I understand and identify with David on that level.  It can be difficult to live in the shadow of a seemingly perfect older sibling, and never be as cute as a younger one. And sometimes, it takes years to come into your own, to step out and feel unique.

“So I brought these two very different people, from very different backgrounds, together in a cooking class. The book is filled with mouth-watering food,” Harmon laughed. “I’d end up hungry every time I’d sit down and write a chapter. Cooking can be a form of self-expression like writing, music and art. I enjoyed overlapping the two worlds of art and food in this new book.”

Harmon launched her writing career by publishing her debut romance eBook on Kindle in November of 2012. She has now released her books in a paperback version on Amazon with digital downloads now available on iBooks, Google Play and Nook Books. In less than seven months AJ has added 5 more new romance novels to the First Class series and at this pace she hopes to complete the nine books in this romance series by November of 2013. Writing and publishing a new book every six to eight weeks would be a daunting task to most authors and publishers, but not Harmon. “I love what I do and I do what I love. Which means this project is more fun than work and that’s a good thing because within days of publishing a new novel my fans are asking for the next one,” she said smiling.

“As a self-published author I don’t have to wait for approval from a publishing company before moving forward on my next book,” stated AJ. “I just write about what I like to read as a romance novel enthusiast myself. I’ve been blessed to have all the talents required to write, edit, format, publish and market a book within my inner circle of family and friends. That allows me to share my stories with women from around the world quickly and without a great deal of expense, bringing joy, entertainment and a brief escape to romance readers. I love my new career.”

Vladimir Putin Offers New Jewelry to replace Robert Kraft’s Patriots Super Bowl Ring

(EMAILWIRE.COM, June 29, 2013 ) San Francisco, CA -- At a business meeting in 2005, Robert Kraft handed Russian president Vladimir Putin his custom New England Patriots’ Super Bowl ring. Putin thought it was a gift and pocketed the ring. Originally, Kraft said he gave the President his ring, but in an interview with the New York Post, Kraft said Putin simply took it.

Kraft said he felt very intimidated because when Putin pocketed the ring, three of his security guards surrounded him and they walked out. Kraft asked for it back, but the US government intervened and said it was in the best interest of the country to not ask for it back, thinking it would cause problems between the two countries.

Putin said he doesn’t remember meeting Robert Kraft or getting the ring, but pictures from the 2005 Carnegie Hall Medal of Excellence Gala show that the two exchanged handshakes. Now, Putin is offering custom jewelry in exchange for the super bowl ring that he says he doesn’t have. He also says he’ll have another ring made to look like the Super Bowl ring that he won as the Patriots owner.

The ring is believed be worth $2500. Putin said he’ll have his best jewelry store in the country make a “really good and big thing so everyone will see it as a luxury”, to find a solution for what he calls a “complicated international problem”.
